Dr. Putman is board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, adult endocrinology and pediatric endocrinology. She sees patients and participates in clinical research in the Divisions of Endocrinology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Her primary research goal is improving the care of children and young adults with chronic diseases to prevent the endocrine complications that may significantly affect their future adult lives. She has developed several research studies focused on improving our understanding and management of cystic fibrosis (CF) related endocrine disorders, including CF related diabetes and CF related bone disease. She is also collaborating with physicians in Orthopaedic Surgery and General Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital along with engineers at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering on technology aimed at improving skeletal health in hospitalized infants and children.
