Our researchers have been at the forefront of thalassemia research for decades. Our physicians and scientists are currently working on developing new methods of diagnosis and treatment, including studying the effectiveness of a new oral iron chelator, improving the effectiveness of current therapies, usingstem cell transplantto cure patients with thalassemia major, and developing new ways to assess iron levels in the body.
