The Lactation Consultants in the Lactation Support Program arehighly trained and experienced nurseswho work with mothers and infants who have breastfeeding difficulties. All program staff are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), which is the gold standard in lactation certification.
Below is a list of some of the areas that we specialize in treating:
- Clinical breastfeeding evaluation and assessment
- Feeding difficulties - inability to latch at the breast
- Suckling difficulties, oral aversion, hypersensitive gag reflex at breast
- Maternal separation from infant
- Establishing milk supply using a breast pump
- Complications of lactation: engorgement, mastitis, low milk supply
We address breastfeeding issues in infants who have:
- Prematurity
- Respiratory Complications
- Congenital Heart Disease
- Gastrointestinal conditions
