We collaborate with specialists in other fields to manage and prevent any complications that may arise, such as high blood pressure, nerve damage, and anemia.
  • TheOptimal Wellness for Life (OWL) Programat Boston Children’s is a multidisciplinary clinic that combines the expertise of specialists in endocrinology, nutrition, behavioral medicine, social work, and physical therapy to treat overweight children and adolescents to help them develop a healthier lifestyle.
  • TheDivision of Endocrinologyat Boston Children’s provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and management for children with disorders of the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, gonads, and endocrine pancreas.
  • ThePreventive Cardiology Clinicat Boston Children’s identifies and manages the risk factors that lead to heart disease, particularly abnormal cholesterol and blood pressure often related to obesity. Our multidisciplinary approach includes clinicians specializing in pediatric cardiology and heart disease prevention, as well as dieticians experienced in pediatric hyperlipidemia and hypertension.
  • TheInfant Follow-Up Program (IFUP)is based at Boston Children’s and is supported by the Boston Children’sDivision of Newborn Medicineand the newborn intensive care units (NICUs) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. The IFUP provides ongoing care and support for very premature infants and consultation to families and pediatricians regarding developmental and medical issues that are specific to premature infants.
