Training
ASAP collaborates with clinicians, both in and out of Boston Children’s Hospital, to provide training in preventing, identifying, and treating adolescent substance use and substance use disorders. In the past, ASAP has provided training opportunities for:
- pediatric primary care
- psychiatrists
- social workers
- nurse practitioners
- addiction medicine specialists
- subspecialty clinicians

Opioid Response Network (ORN)
ASAP provides technical assistance via the Opioid Response Network: The Opioid Response Network is a group of diverse individuals and organizations working collaboratively to address the opioid and stimulant crisis in this country. In an effort to address the opioid and stimulant-use disorder crisis, theSubstance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrationawarded funding to theAmerican Academy of Addiction Psychiatryand a coalition of national organizations to provide training and education in evidence-based practices in the prevention, treatment, and recovery of substance use disorders. The ORN works with states, health professionals, communities, organizations, healthcare centers, the justice system, and individuals in all 50 U.S. states and nine territories to provide education and training tailored specifically to address local needs, at no cost.
