Shelby Mudarri is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center. In this role, she meets with patients who are newly diagnosed with IBD for an education session to make sure that patients and their families understand what IBD is and what treatment options are available. She also provides education to families regarding injectable medications and how to safely administer these medications at home. Shelby has a wide scope of practice and provides care to IBD patients along with patients with general GI disorders of all ages. Shelby has nearly 15 years experience as a nurse at Boston Children's Hospital and has experience as a CPNP in urology and nephrology. She received her Baccalaureate of Science from UMASS Amherst and Masters in Science with a concentration of pediatric primary care from Boston College.

I believe that open and honest communication is key in developing trusting relationships with my patients. I understand that despite similarities in diagnoses, every patient and family is unique. I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to care and works closely with my physician, nurse, nutrition, social work and psychology colleagues to provide the most comprehensive care possible to my patients.
