The Adult Infectious Diseases group consists of six board-certified physicians who have expertise in diagnosing and treating all types of infectious diseases.

Our research

We are actively involved in ongoing, cutting-edge research in tick-borne diseases, HIV, healthcare-associated infections and other infectious diseases.

• Adult Infectious Disease Division is funded in part by research grants from theNational Institutes of Health (NIH).
• Our faculty has published over 500 papers including at least 25 in theNew England Journal of Medicine.
• We have made seminal discoveries including co-discovering AIDS.
• Our faculty conducted the study that found single dose doxycycline to be efficacious for preventing Lyme disease after a tick bite.
